Voice interview coach

Interviews are spoken, so practise speaking. Answer out loud and see which key points you hit, how many “um”s slipped out and whether you rushed. Your voice never leaves your browser.

Why practise interviews out loud?

Knowing an answer and saying it clearly under pressure are different skills. Most candidates prepare by reading, then freeze, ramble or fill the silence with “um” and “basically” when the interviewer is listening. The voice coach closes that gap: you answer a real question out loud, and it shows you what an interviewer would have heard.

  • Key points. Each question has the points an interviewer listens for. The coach checks which ones you actually said, then shows the model answer with your hits ticked. The matching is keyword-based, so treat it as a guide rather than a verdict.
  • Filler words. A couple are natural. More than about four per hundred words starts to sound unsure, so the coach counts them and names your most common one.
  • Pace and length. Around 130 to 160 words a minute is easy to follow. A strong technical answer usually takes 60 to 120 seconds: a definition, an example, then a trade-off.

Speech recognition runs in Chrome, Edge and Safari. In other browsers you can type your answer and still get the key-point check. Repeat a question until you hit every point, then move on to the full mock interview.
